Excellant post Stauffenberg. In the real world losses like the battle above, nevermind the NM penalty, would have almost certainly resulted in the overthrow of the Davis government in Richmond, and certainly the head of Johnston on a pike. Conclusions: --only a few times was the loss disparity even ...

So I should get a normal battle animation/display like any other battle out there. But I am not. Time to figure out why.

Edit: Turns out it was user error. I wish the resolution was higher as I hate having to put on my glasses.

Thanks!

Quick siege related question. I have made multiple breaches in multiple cities, in multiple games. I have tried the All out assault option a lot of times but NEVER have I seen a attack animation pop up during the turn, or a log entry regarding casualties. I have captured cities but I only recall the...

There is a lot of good advice in this thread. Lets see the union not attacking could be the AI turned off or on a low aggressiveness. As to the tutorials I hated them, matter of fact kept me from buying the games for a few years. I second zerotheheros link on youtube. The vids are done by a forum me...

Richmond is a 50 point loss for the CSA. For some reason I thought it was a loss of only 10NM. The 50 explains it. Another game I had a 55 NM, with close to 100,000 men on three sides of Richmond. Jan64 rolls around and I get the Defeat messgage. War fatigue hits and defeat is now 65NM. I cant see ...

I dont know about question 1 but 2 I wondered about as well. The only answer I found is to switch sides in the load games screen. Then hit F9 and it shows the capital. If you have troops near the capital guessed location, hitting ctrl-F4 will remove all the units on the map making it clearer to see ...

Thanks GraniteStater! I am suprised I never moused over that before. I got a win in Feb 65 as Union and the turn before I had a NM of 105. End of the next turn got the you win message and a NM of 167! The rebs NM dropped from 64 to 11 and I wanted to see what happened. The union did take Richmond at...

1. no production until they "like" you ... i.e., you have enough loyalty. Bring Butler or another "oppressor" in to show the light to the locals. 2. That's athena for you! there are some threads that suggest settings to use, but I usually just take over for a turn or two, more the units to a more s...

I most definitely had it in early 63. I wanted to save it for later in case the Brits got any ideas about stoping in univited. But it is not longer listed in mine, I looked in June of 63 and its gone. Now in early 64, and its gone.

Armistead, I had errors that said post to the support forum as well. I resolved mine by loading the previous turn. The game makes 24 auto saves for you so you can go back but I think it is actually better to give make a unique name save every couple game months. Sometimes things go sooo wrong, strat...

HI ALL I saw this game when it first came out. I think it was Matrix games was selling it and was way too expensive so passed on it. Later I noticed a demo/tutorial and downloaded it and hated it. I tried the demo again, actual 3 more times, hated it. I did not like the lack of windows look, the fon...
