Excellent game !!!

Dear Miguel, I just want to say - thanks for this masterpiece! Can't stop playing it :) Actually I wanted to start a new PON campaign but then got distracted by Espana 1936. Though I am not Spanish I was always interested in the Spanish Civil War ever since my youth when I read Hemingway's For Whom ...

Question about commodity pricing is subject, thank you. Loki recently said it is random. He also made a good point in comparing it to the more "realistic" model of Vicky 2, which overall comes across to the player as more opaque and rather generic where I tend to agree For me there are other aspect...

But that's how history sometimes works. Such decisions are being and had been made on the green table. Also, think about it - that will be as far as I know the only goody for Belgium during the whole game. Regarding conferences: I guess, it would have been very cool, if the Philippes would have incl...

Player France, AI Italy and the Italian unification - Patch 17-Aug

Dear Loki et al, as I just started my new game with France its important role in the Italian unification came to my mind. Here a couple of questions: 1.) Is the event chain only working for AI France and AI / Player Italy or is also Player France / AI Italy doable - I mean me helping Italy out in th...

The changes are minimal, basically correcting the FF event and a bit on the Indian Mutiny, as this only affects the events I wouldn't worry about save game continuity. To be fair, PoN's patching process has been very save game friendly ever since the very early 1.01 series of changes. Great - thank...

just to report, this change removes the T1 assassination and immediate wars etc. Many apologies for missing it (or more strictly for managing to delete a line) One other chain that was breaking was the Indian Mutiny. it *can* happen in vanilla but both event chains have a flaw. The German one is about the AI and the Prussian-Danish war, the problem is winning this war is essential to trigger a province transfer that is then needed to trigger the Franco-Prussian war chain. Italy has a problem with the Garibaldi ...

This is indeed great news! I have a question regarding the AI Germany and Italy unification event chains, which used to be a bit buggy. What I did in Afghanistan was 1.) militarily, first build up strong supply lines (depot, supply carts) with depots to the Merv border, send in 1 large army and otherwise have small Cossack rider units and sending the supply carts back and forth. The task of the large army was to hold and crush the B...

Hi I think you'll still need to tell the AI to make naval builds a priority. Its good it has the infrastructure. I think the basic problem is the AI is being too logical - at the lower priority, building up your navy, especially once you shift to coal is very expensive both as build costs and as a ...

that script effectively does 2 things - it tells the AI that a fleet is as important as land builds and, with the shipyards, makes it that bit easier/quicker for it to build. If it doesn't take the hint, you could try AI.SetNavBuild = 200 (or higher). Christophe reported that '100' worked well for ...

So that means, that I just need to "encourage" the AI to build naval bases - the rest will do the AI ?? That would be a huge relief - Loki, I will try this - would 2 naval bases be enough for UK, France, Germany and 1 naval base for Italy? I assume that Matrix / Slitherine is a way better home now f...

Navy, naval build up and effects on gameplay

I read several posts and threads about large parts missing in the Naval aspects of the game, also I think that I experienced this myself - being Russia I was able to fight the Crimean War without any AI Naval interference ( i.e. I was not forced to protect my merchant marine). Which are your experie...

Is ousting of foreign military outpost possible without declaring war

Unfortunately the Brits were able to establish Military Outposts in the very south of Afghanistan in region...
