newb asks:

1.) get (union) divisions in late '61--yeah!

2.) try the control click to add... nope (yes, i've been avidly devouring every post here on the subject)... so no idea

3.) then i next turn, after clicking on a unit to become a division...in unclicks and isn't one anymore...the vreate a division button (the one i just clicked) is no longer clicked...

man, talk about a vertical learnining curve... looks like it is worth it so i hang in...

I am not sure what exactly you have tried. You need to push division button and then control click add the elements you want to add to division.

step 1: hit the division button. The cmdr has to be activated.
step 2: ctrl+click all the units you want in the division and hit the add button. Other generals can't be added. Make sure it's just the division commander and the combat units you want in.
Step 3: Profit!

If units aren't added to the division commander, he reverts back to non division status the next turn.

Click the enable divisional command button to create a new division (the button on screen will be depressed). Use Ctrl/left click to add elements to the division. If you click the divisional command button again, you will disable divisional command for this leader and lose the cost in money and resources used to create the division.
