Hi all,

Really starting to get my head the finer points of this game.
My question today is when travelling long distances is there any way of controlling which areas/direction you travel.
I try not to move more than 15 days at a time,but on this occasion it was a 28 day supply trip and the AI was taking a strange route- even taking me
straight over Cairo (enemy held) on day 20.
I take it im not going to dessert to the other side at Cairo but it would be useful to take cavalry on a nice 2 week round trip in enemy territory
-just site seeing of cource.

Hi!

You can drag and drop the stacks one region at a time, chossing exactly where you want them to go, in the complicated/strange parts of th trip.
And you can delete any movement leg, one by one, with the DEL key.
With this two tools it's easy to control the movement.
The automatic route the game selects for you is always the fastest (less travel days) but sometimes is safer to do a longer one...

As simple as that sounds is there any scenario where my movement will be stopped or intercepted (of course my settings are evade combat)

Not sure if i understand your question.
If you try to cross a river and the enemy has gunboats on that river area they can impede your crossing.
With the last patch the probabilities are 23% per enemy gunboat element up to 90% (4 elements).
Besides, even with evade, its possible for enemy units to catch you. But the chances are pretty slim unless you find some enemy cavalry stack with a good leader...

Thats what i thought-if i move into a region the same time as enemy cav the
stats come into play,so you are saying evade combat might be null and void.
Does size of force come into play with there ability to evade or purely the stats in the stack (unit)etc
