PBEM--"End Turn" Button merely saves as .ord??

This is a really wierd problem and a frustrating one at that.
I've just started another game here with a Euro buddy of mine and the whole process has gone as it was suppose to. I sent him his .TRN file....I played my turn and saved it.
He sent me his .ORD file...I saved it to the proper Directory...
The Directory has these files in it....which is correct I'm sure:
blah blah blah.hst
blah blah blah.trn
blah blah blah.trn
blah blah blah.ord
blah blah blah.ord
They're all under the same name in the directory. I can see little paperclips next to each side's files and stuff
I load up my game...(I'm playing USA...opponent CSA) I push the "End Turn" Button....and all that happens...is the game SAVES over my last .ORD file again. It doesn't execute the turn. I even tried loading up my opponents game (without looking at his moves) and hitting the end turn button....same thing on his.
I've combed the forums for a hint as to what I may be getting wrong here...couldn't find anything....frustration is high. Please help.
again my specs:
v1.08d
Vista Home Premium
running game in Compatability Mode with XP Service Pack 2

Did you try to click on the Save button instead?
The reason I suggest this it that Pocus has inverted the two buttons in several patches just out of sheer cruelty (well, he had a reason). You might be clicking on the wrong button out of habit.

Unless you have a demo version and you play the wrong scenario, it don't ring a bell in me... So send me the 5 files (in a single ZIP) and I'll check myself. I can learn something

I'm sorry Pocus....already moved on. deleted the files, I think the problem may have been that I saved my opponent's .ord file before saving mine?
I dunno...If it happens again when I host a game....I'll post the files on this thread.

I have just had a possibly related problem in my PBEM. The files all seemed fine, but my (USA) side had a serious problem. All of my orders were not executed..a few not happening is normal (the usual reverts to xx stance etc) but we are talking about dozens of orders. No message saying they were ignored. At first maybe I thought it was the button issue, so I was very careful after the first turn. Now it has been 3 turns!!!!!!! We are at the critical moment of the war and this has completely unhinged my entire war effort. I would like to bring this up and hope it can be addressed....as for our game it might be over.

Satisfaction, who's the host? You or your opponent? And are you zipping your files before sending them? Give more details please..

My opponent is the host. We are using WinRaR. Each using 1.09. I believe we have upgraded from earlier versions, but it was much earlier in the game.

Everytime it has happened, it means the order file sent (by you in this case) is not in the right place at the Host's side.

Thanks for all the help. He and I are starting again (we are hooked) and even though we had the problem, we both enjoyed the match. Just so I can tell him, where is the correct place? I have never hosted, this was my first PBEM. Seems like he would get my turn and it would have to do something as the time kept moving forward, does the game check for a valid turn from me before it executes the moves? Just curious, thanks again.

Yes, the file has to be put in the game directory that the host created, ie when you create a game, you are proposed with a name, that you can change. For example PBEM_me_vs_you
So when the host get your .ORD file, he has to put it in Saves\PBEM_me_vs_you
This should make a total of 5 files then. And (except in the first turn), if you already played a turn and your friend don't put your ORD, he will get a warning saying that the AI will take over the position. Normally this can't be ignored.

Pocus, thank you so much for taking the time to help with something as small as this! This is why I love your products....well the game isn't to bad either
I'm hosting this game, and think I've got it figured out. Key is the save directory for the specific game, not the generic save directory.
