Now here's a silly question...PBEM's....how?

I'm VERY new to the PBEM process.

I've spent most of my hours multiplayer gaming online with pre-programmed servers and the like. So I'm a total noob to this process.

Could someone please instruct this poor unintelligent gamer how to do PBEM with AACW?

I've got a partner who's really pumped to play a game with me.

Thanks ahead of time. :hat:

Have you read what the manual has to say about PBEMs?

Okay...thank you. That is great info on the subject. However I have a bit of a problem.

I'm running Vista Home Premium by the way....running the game on XP Compatibility (Maybe that's not needed?)

Saved games show up in the "in-game" Load directory

But when exploring the ACW file folder....and then opening the Save folder...there are no files showing up. I didn't know what would be happening in this instance.

Again thanks for the help

OK Rafiki...thanks...I went to the link...question now

AFter being thoroughly confused even AFTER reading the manual before seeing this post....I went to the link here and again read it....see an earlier couple of posts of mine about my confusion about pbem....anyway...I read it again and NOW after reading more carefully I see that EACH PLAYER OPENS THE PBEM SELECTION...the HOST FIRST...HE SAVES AND SEND THE TRN TO THE NON-HOST...ME. I opened the same campaign he said we were playing by going NOT TO THE LOAD GAME menu choice, but to the START GAME CHOICE...and there was the trn he sent me that I saved in the saves folder...I opened it AND IT WAS THE UNION FORCES on the map...and I am supposed to be the CSA....so I saved...and exited back to the main screen and then used LOAD GAME...now there were two files...I opened the CSA file and saw my units....I am still confused of course...and wondering how it is supposed to work...how does one protect the other guy from opening the wrong file? This is so confusing that it is making me crazy...is there a password function? Is there a simple step by step..procedure that has to be clearer than that rather murky and confusing manual explanation of how to host a game and where and how to open YOUR half of the turn? Man this is infuriating.
