AI takes over after loading saved game

I wonder what happend? Just loaded a saved game and when I finished my orders I pressed the button for the next turn. Ups, a screen appeared in the middle with the following text:

"The opponent turn is missing, do you really want to process the new turn, thus reverting him to the AI?"

I said ok but then the AI not only gave orders to the confederats. Also the AI issues commands to all my generals and units.
My wohle strategy is shattered in one turn.
Can anyone help me or just explain what happened to me? :p leure:

Hi, yoppy.

You probably loaded the AI file. There is a way to load previous saves (I think that you must go and search in the backup folder, but I am not 100% certain).

hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Franciscus,

I don't think that this is the problem, because I found the button that makes the AI-files visible; and I didn't press it before I loaded the save game.
Btw what is the meaning of the little paper-clip left of the saved game names?

The message you speak about is when you play say both sides, then relinquish one and play only one. The Hosting module thus warn you about the possibility of doing something unwanted.

I never saw the game play in place of a player. If you save and do a new turn, your orders will be executed but can't be superceded.

It means that you have given some orders for the current turn.

Thanks for this explanation.

And to Pocus:
I can't imagine why this saved game started as a game with both players human. It's my third game and I never saw this before. Sometimes I save the game under different names.
For me I solved the problem by hitting the home-key several times when pointing on the saved game. The tooltip told me that by doing this the saved game gets back one turn. I loaded this saved game an then there was the computer again leading the confederats. :)
When I tried to play the saved game with the message I wrote here the ai overrides my orders many times with the result that my stable front becomes a pure catastrophy. :bonk: :grr:
