Minor problem with the 1st tutorial

This isn't a game killer, but it does casue a little confusion. And I played it three times with the same result each time.

When playing the first tutorial, all is OK until I get all my units to Henry. Then the weather turns bad. (Blizzard according to the info panel) I can capture Decaturville with no problem but then I have to move my troops to McNairy and then to Madison to move around the river and this is where the problem begins.

It takes 28 days to make the move due to the bad weather.

So the next turn my units are still sitting in McNairy waiting to move to Madison for a battle which hasn't happened yet, but the tutorial messages are describing how to read the battle report and telling you what to do following the battle.

I can hit the end turn button and the battle is fought and I can finish what is in the tutorial messages, but it costs me a turn and makes it that much harder to try and take Memphis before the limit.

Looking at the PDF of the tutorial instructions there is no bad weather so is this just a random occurence or a glitch in the tutorial setup?

This is a random occurence, I should have set the weather to be Fair for all turns if the scenario is a Tutorial it seems. I will fix that, thanks.

As a quick fix you may exchange the scenario:

Copy the file '!Tutorial_One.scn' to '...\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW\Scens\'
Overwrite the existing file.

Copy the file '!Tutorial_One.sct' to '...\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW\Events\'
Overwrite the existing file.

I moved the scenario date two months toward summer, so the weather is supposed to be a bit better.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Edit: OBSOLETE due to the patch. :)

Phew I had the same problem and I couldn't understand why everything went wrong after the move south. One corps didnt make it to decaturville and the move on Madison resulted in no battle and a union retreat one turn later.

Glad to see it wasn't just me.. I've spent most of the evening trying to figure out what I was doing wrong!

Er.... what patch? Or will it be along shortly?

There's a link to it in the second sticky thread in this forum. :)

So I'm not an idiot. "But there hasn't been a battle...<gulp>...I can't even get the tutorial right!"

Thanks for this thread - now I can stop doubting my (alleged) gaming prowess.
