I came back to my pc after an hour's absence to find that the game had "gone to black" with an error message concerning a direct x burst mode error. I've had this happen on this pc (but not others) before...the screen goes black and the game is crashed after a prolonged absence.

I'm considering updating to DirectX 11 for Windows 7, which is what I'm running.

Any suggestions?

I think sometimes I've seen this message error in my pc, and if I'm not wrong it is due to Windows' UAC. If UAC is enable, when it asks you for permission to continue (at that moment pop up the message window), when you try return to AACW its screen has become 'black' and there is nothing you can do... Well, you can restart AACW.
