Hello,

I just bought a screaming powerful new MacBook Pro and was wondering how best to configure it for playing AACW. I will probably be using Windows 7. Is there a better program than Bootcamp to run it? Also, is there anything else I'll have to download to run the game? Any and all advice will be appreciated.

Cheers.....

I can't say I have any advice to offer, but if someone were to put together a guide to getting AACW and other AGE games to run on Mac, I'll be more than happy to sticky it here :)

I have no Mac but I would use
- a virtual Machine instead of Bootcamp or
- Wine (look here or here)

Has anyone out there tried playing AGE on Parallels or VMWare?

Hi.
I play AACW with Parallels 5 & Windows XP, there's no problem. You can read some advices here :

That's in french, but I think you can translate it easily.

About Wine, WineHQ states AACW should work with minor flaws.

But keep in mind tests are pretty old: the last one utilized version 1.12 for AACW (now it's 1.15) and version 1.1.33 for Wine (now it's 1.3.4).

I'll be using a combination of Windows XP (SP3) with either Bootcamp or Parallels on a new MacBook Pro. This should be worry-free, yes?

I'm not the right person to ask for I have a Linux system, not a Mac one.

What I wrote still holds independently from the OS you use.
