Critical Error and Program Hanging

I have been getting this regularly;-
A message telling me to contact AGeod technical suppory and then the game hangs and crashes;
I am told to reference C\Programs\Files\AGEod's American Civil War\ACW\Logs\! main log.text
Is this connected with the message 27 I keep getting told in the message box?
Anyway I would appreciate your help as it is most frustrating.
thanks
Alan

Gray,
thanks for the prompt investigation.
I have emailed Manstein and asked him to upload the host files.
Is there anything else you need me to send you?

The log indicates an error that is not known to be fixed, so yes, we need all the files.
Gray, I see now the reason why somebody got a NULL during a tutorial message. See the warning at the start of the log of Captain. Perhaps there is a ; somewhere in a cell.

Pocus,
Thanks for looking into this.
Unfortunately I "play" games not programme them, so am a bit of a techno Neanderthal. So can you please tell me in simple terms which files you need?
Manstein is in Spain so probably hasn't read my email request for the host files yet.
If there is something you need just ask me ,like you are talking to an 8 year old

Hehe, we will need the 5 files making a turn. If you are not the host, then lets wait for it.

Highly likely
We just found two cells in WIA text that contained a ;
Been there since the beginning, took this long for the team to figure it out. [We saw French text in Spanish install, blanks where the DB said there's text]
Spanish Flu

You mean i have this critical error because I am playing with the Spaniard ?
A curse on Manstein, not only does he regularly defeat me, now he inflicts me with his Iberian plague as well.
Serves me right many of the great plagues came thru Spain. I should have known better.
So now I know how he has been beating me
Can Ageod make its next game the Spanish Civil War
(actually I am serious about that, great topic with good play balance and lots of interesting foreigners and unusual units.

Thanks Manstein
BTW do you get the same critical error or are you just a carrier of the Spanish flu like Typhoid Mary?
Pocus/Gray has this got anything to do with the messages going backwards and forwards in two different languages? For example I often get Spanish words in the stuff Manstein sends me. It's no drama as I can work out what it means. Don't know if this helps at all.
BTW Manstein I actually have been in bed sick for two days with temperature and shivers are you responsible for that too

No crash sorry (using 1.12RC1), loaded the turn as CSA, played it, loaded the new turn again as CSA, no problem.
Attached is your new turn, both side + HST file. It seems ok to me.

This is why I could never enjoy programming. I would find no enjoyment in searching for allusive faults whatsoever.
ok symptoms doctor once more.
-the error message is always the same one I mentioned before
-Since I reported this the bloody game hasn't done it once
- Before I reported it. It crashed some 4 or 5 times same message
- I "think" it happens when you click on the message box
-When I play I religously click an every message in the box in sequence
- This fault first started a month ago and my son also reported it to me when he plays
-We are on 1.11d
-Manstein says he has no problems when playing other English speaking players (or they don't report it?)
-I 90% have that code 27 come up at the end of my messages
So what do we do now? Wait for it to happen again?

I've had this happen to me, but it only seemed to hang up when I had troops in action in a certain region...It no longer seemed to crash when I kept them away from that area. Anyway, that's not very technical, just wanted to say that Captain isn't alone with this problem; it happened to me consistently for a time.

Please post the game version number you're playing, the scenario you are playing at the time, the area that you are encountering the difficulty in, and any other helpful information that you might have. Also, a really big help is to zip up the actual game files and attach them to either a post here, or email them to AGEod.
sorry, dang.

1.11d, full campaign. I'll try and get the files together

Yes, it is a serious topic, because actually at Spain we are exhuming bodies and accusing the ones to the others

at the risk of being scolded again i must admit that i seem to have deleted my saves files. at the very least however, these were the circumstances: the region was St. Joseph, LA with 9 turns remaining. I had moved to the region and been besieging the city when it began to crash, which would always occur after the supply segments had been completed. As the days would be rolling along the view would zoom to that location and then hang up, providing that message. I'll make sure not to ditch the files when it happens again. version 1.11d, full two theater campaign, playing as the Union. Hope that helps, although it probably doesn't, sorry

Manstein,
Unfortunately all civil wars are serious and often by their nature particularly vicious. The AACW was lucky in this regard compared to some. Spain was particularly bad. I will chat to you off site about some relatives of mine (still living) who were on both sides in that conflict.
Anyway by playing games about the topic I believe it creates a better understanding of the history, the culture and the environment that these terrible things happened in.

I am in English, Manstein is in Spanish (but he doesn't seem to have any problems, though he does get the code 27)

Not sure about this re my situation. I am guessing it is message related by the way I sequence thru my turns, but Gray and Pocus should have all my data.
BTW, Gray I only play the full campaign.
As i said 4 turns with Manstein last night, didn't appear once
Oh and yes the error message is very polite

I would suggest you all upgrade to 1.12RC3, which is 99% official.

Sorry! A critical error occurred, the application will be terminated.
Please forward to
support@ageod.com the errors log located here.
C:\Program Files\AGEod's American Civil war\ACW\Logs\! Main log.txt and the saved game you are currently playing
(found in the saves directory).
Manstein if you read this you better upload your host files please.
Please Heeeeeeeeeelllppppppppp.............
P.S.
Critical error occured 5mins after i downloaded the file from manstein.
After crash I booted game again and now worries, finished my turn.
We are both still using 1.11d
I don't know if code 27 came up as i didn't get to the end of messages where it usually is before the crash. I don't think code 27 was there when i rebooted and finished my turn.
