Hi Jake, and welcome to the forums :)

You should have gotten a serial number number along with the mails confirming your purchase; are you sure none of those contained it? I got my serial number along with the invoice, but things may have changed since then, so I can't say 100% for sure hwo things are now.

Hi
I think that site (not sure if its even legit or not) "sells" a special version of the game commercialized by Trymedia company that offers a strange kind of demo: you can demo the full game (all scenarios) but play it for a very limited amount of time (20 minutes or so). After that time you have to buy it.

So probably you just downloaded the demo.
Its easy to see that a "buy or get for free" policy is not a very sound marketing strategy for a games shop ;)

Yuo can get the regular demo, the good one (no time limit but only offers some scenarios and the tutorials) form here
http://www.ageod-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=115

And if you like it, buy the game on AGEOD shop,
http://shopus.ageod.com/game-description-American_Civil_War-659234.html
or on a retail shop... and you will get your own serial number. The full game is not given for free anywhere.
Regards

Indeed you need to buy the game to get a serial number, it is not free.

Usually, you will need to get in touch with the distributor, since they are the ones responsible for supplying you with a valid version of the game and everything you need to run it. I see that they have a section for Questions and answers relating to AACW that perhaps might be of help to you?

I'm unsure what else can be done to help you, so I'll leave it to the core support team to provide further assistance.

We need a proof of purchase to issue a serial key to people who did not got one when they bought the game.

I purchased mine from trymedia as well. I have the activation code but it does no good. I sent a copy of my receipt to support@ageod.com and I;m hoping I will hear something back soon.

This all happened when I tried to move AACW from my laptop to my desktop. The version that transferred is only the demo copy (as I found out when I got the supply waypoint error). When I went back to my email from 2008 I found the activation link but trymedia no longer has permission to sell the game so I can't download it again and enter the activation code. Lets hope Ageod can help.

Whats funny is that if I just spent I think $7.00 I could get a hard copy from Amazon.

Not that it has anything to do with this company but I learned my lesson, the hard way, about buying downloads.

I spent 35 bucks for Strategic Command and it downloaded fine. Probem was there was no activation key number sent with it . Many attemts to get one failed. Never got even so much as a response.

Now if I can't get a hard copy of what I want... then I don't buy.

Did you try to reach Martin at Battlefront? He is a very competent person.
