Good morning all, I have been playing my second game against VigaBrand. In this one on Early January of 1862 I hit 100 foreign intervention in favor of the CSA, thank you Trent Affair. In Late January Great Britain and France have declared war on the Union. So I have decided to do my first AAR documenting Foreign Intervention since it seems a rarity. I will start a few post this week getting people up to date with what has lead up to this point and will start documenting what all has happened since the start of Great Britain and France Declaring war on the USA.

For starters here are the rules that have been put into place for this game:
Historical Attrition
Standard Naval
1 redeployment (for spawning generals only)
Normal Foreign
No random generals
Normal activation
Spiel start 1861.

House rules:
Mobilization:

1.) For the South: No Part-Mobilization before Early April 1862 and Full Mobilization not before Late September 1862

2.) For the north: Part-Mobilization from Late September 1862 , Full Mobilization from Early January 1863

Every side can wait as long as they want to Part-Mobilization , but there must be a Part-Mobilization once before a Full Mobilization can occur.

If England/France enters the war on CSA Side the Northern Player is allowed to "Full-Mobilize" CSA can match any USA mobilize if they do.

Raiders:
For the south: In the border states: West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Delaware, and Missouri. Can raid with single units. In "non-border-states" like Illinois must take a leader and 3 units to raid.

For the north: Always the USA Player must take a leader and 3 units to raid.
Scouting:
Leader scouting is forbidden, because you can't defend against them.
Manassas:
Union can only conquer manassas after the paper offensive event.

Late April finds the Union Blockade rubbing Europe the wrong way with over 600K flooding into the CSA economy, as well as over 300 conscripts eager to fight for the Confederacy.

Early May 1861:

The traitorous Sam Houston has turned his back on the people of Texas.

The first step to building our Independent nation came from the rebuilding of our infrastructure.

The cowardly Yanks fled Virginia so fast the left the guns needed to keep the land independent.

Seeing the opportunity to further the support of the South by Europe talks were open with Britain and France to how a post war America shall look.

Late May 1861:

Refusing to respect the State Sovereignty of Virginia Union forces have crossed into North Virginia.

In the West the traitorous Sam Houston hides behind a unit of Cavalry in Dallas.

Early June 1861:

Hearing that Union Forces are massing in Northern Virginia a force from the great state of North Carolina board the first trains available to secure Manassas Junction.

Out West the Union Army shows no remorse, killing women, children and unarmed civilians. The roads of St Louis are stained red with the blood of the innocents. This evil shall not be forgotten.

Late June 1861:

Following the bloodshed in St. Louis the Yanks do not let up, like locus they swarm into Northern Missouri pillaging the land and laying siege to Jefferson City.

While in Dallas the coward Sam Houston flees with the Union Cavalry as the people of Texas rise up.

In the East Manassas Junction forces dig in as Union forces continue to flood into Virginia.

Early July 1861

Yet again the North attempts to strong arm the South with a blockade has drawn more heat from Europe. While the CSA economy increased by a quarter million dollars while another 125 units of volunteers stand for their country.

While in the East the Army of the Potomac heads for Manassas Junction with a force of over 21,000 men as more Union forces cross into Virginia

More blood in Missouri as the city of Jefferson City finds itself under constant Union attack

Lincoln calls for 75,000 men. Many border states refuse while the CSA become more solid in their Independence.

Late July 1861, Eastern Theater:

Positive trade agreements are met with Great Britain, while our Merchant Raiders have delivered a strike to the Union Economy.

In Stanford, VA General Huger is surprised by The Army of Northeastern Virgina Led by General McDowell. Vastly outnumbered General Huger falls back to Fredricksburg.

Reports reach The Army of the Potomac that McDowell and his Army of Northeastern Virginia has flanked them and has taken position in Culpeper, VA. Other scouts bring back other news that The Army of the Potomac has been surrounded by Union Forces. Knowing that Mcdowell likely expects the Army of the Potomac to divide themselves to strike at him and defend Manassas Junction, General Beaurgard does the unthinkable. He orders his men to set fire to the Depot in Manassas and leads his 33,000 men North to Alexandria while leaving less than 7,000 men to keep the union forces away from the 5,000 men defending Richmond.... Only time will tell if this threat to Washington will be enough

Had both the Eastern and Western theaters ready to be posted, but my laptop overheated on me right after posting this. Should have the rest of this turn and the next one posted tonight. Likely the last post this week as I am getting married on Saturday.

Thank you. I have a good opponent. First game he steamed rolled me as I tried to be over aggressive. So I have been trying to use more of the approach of protecting the southern sovereignty instead of focusing on southern aggression.

Late July, 1861; Western Theater:

The good people of Texas raise the CSA flag above Dallas once again, the traitor Sam Houston is no where in sight.

Further South in Texas another force travels to secure the Rio Grande and the Texas/Mexican Boarder.

While farther North in Missouri the Garrison of Jefferson City face down two Union Cavalry Regiments.

Realizing that Jefferson City is lost the remaining defenders retreat south for Arkansas where reports indicate an army forming to face the Union threat.

1861, Early August: Eastern Theater

The surprise assault on Alexandria, VA is far more successful than expected. The union force loses over half their troops between the 5800 dead and wounded as well as 1900 captured soldiers. The remaining forces are routed from the field and flee back out of Virginia for Washington DC. Now a force of 30,000 Confederate forces dig in, cutting off the Union forces in Virginia to the Union Capital.

Conflict on the Mississippi River! Where the mighty Mississippi meets the Ohio the first battle for the Mississippi river unfolds with a Confederate Victory.

General Polk and his force of 5500 with 19 canons dig in on the West mouth of the Mississippi.

1961, Early August: Western Theater

Bowen's Bde. has another run in with Union Cavalry while fleeing Jefferson City.

Running low on food and out of ammunition Bowen's Bde. makes a mad dash for Sprinfield.

1861, Early August, Things of Importance

Late August, 1861: Eastern Theater

General Johnston presses into Harpers Ferry, and though causing much damage to the Union forces they are forced to leave the field of battle and return south.

In a surprise move General Hamilton moves out of Washington DC to strike the Shenandoah Valley from behind. Fearing the fall of Strasburg Depot the defending forces are ordered to set fire to the depot while reinforces are dispatched.

While in Alexandria the Army of the Potamic, 32,000 strong, set to charge the remaining defending forces. Time will tell if they shall set their eyes on Washington or remain to protect Southern Soil.

In Richmond less than 3,000 men guard the capital while the Northeastern Virginia Army is but a few days from the Confederate Capital!!!

With their capital under threat General Floyd launches his small force of 5,000 men and 600 cavalry against the larger army. Time will only tell if their valor shall be in vein.

Late August, 1861; Mississippi Theater

As the good men of Kentucky rally to the Banner of Succession in Lexington, KY, without warning they are set upon by union invaders out of Ohio. Out numbered and many freshly arriving from their family farmsteads there was little hope for these brave men. Only a few escaped the hands of the invaders. Those who did have vowed to see the Union dogs pay!

In Bowling Green, KY men from the country side are taking up arms to prepare to defend their stately rights. The Words "Remember Lexington" is repeatedly religiously before and after most training exercises.

While along the Western banks of the mighty Mississippi General Polk's men continue to dig in. As General Polk's request for a force from Memphis, TN to board river boats bound for Columbus, Ky to defend the Eastern banks of the Mississippi River are met. It is evident the CSA knows that control of this crucial point where the Ohio meets the Mississippi could mean the difference between victory and defeat in this region.

In the west General price and the 1st Missouri Cavalry travel to meet with the native tribes of Cherokee and Creek Indians. Encouraging Indian braves to lead raiding parties on northern settlements...

Down in the Lone Star State, General Mulculloch leads a few men West to secure the South Western region. Targeting Tucson in the Arizona Territory.
