Richmond Confederate Newspaper

I am going to attempt an AAR that will show up as a newspaper coming out of Richmond, Virginia, the Confederate capitol.
I am fairly new to the Ageod American Civil War, having played only two or three scenarios, plus one entire campaign.
I made a few mods to the Confederate side, which I will be using, to explore a "what if the South had more men and a stronger economy". I basically added extra money, conscripts, and war supplies to a few of the largest southern cities and made two harbors a bit larger. I also increased the number of ships and artillery available to be purchased. The overall increase adds up to between 10% and 15%; still way below the Union's economic power and manpower.
To explain the "what if" portion of the AAR, I start the newspaper with several "Year in Review" type issues. the bi-monthly newspaper begins in April, 1861, the campaign I am using in the game.
I'm pretty new to the game and need the South to be a bit stronger anyway or I have no chance. I'm sure some of you can whip the Yankees without making any modifications. I'm not there.
I hope you will enjoy the story. I'm not a writer, but I think it's a good story. I'm enjoying it, anyway.
I will put out the first newspaper later today.

The last of the "Year in Review" Newspapers.
The "Ageod" storyline begins on the next issue.

Your AAR is similar to the one on matrix forum where it was all about forge of freedom game. Ihope you will post until the end as this one also has a great potential to become the best one.

Yep. That was mine. Interest fell off pretty bad on that forum.
This one seems to be very alive. The opportunity for a story is much better with this game. Much more detail. I plan on following this one through till the end. I am already up to Late November 1861. I just haven't posted them. I will drop one every other day or so until I catch up. I have made a few blunders and also some good moves I think. Hope you will stay tuned. I had a real shocker and game changer come up late in 1861. But you will have to wait on that.

I thought this looked familiar. This is the only forum I post to, so thank you for your AAR and I urge you to keep it up. Wish I had done so on the Matrix site as I was enjoying that AAR too.
Regards.

Thanks for the support, guys. I appreciate it.
I do need to make one edit though. It looks like the attachment for the 1859 Year in Review is not showing up. I will fix that this evening.

My plan is to put out about one newspaper a day, so that, number one, I might get caught up, and number two, that I might present a "Christmas in Richmond, 1861" issue on December 25th. Hope you will stay tuned.

This is a really engaging AAR man. Best presentation I've seen. I've always had a special place for the "news" type AAR. Keep up the great work Patrick!
P.S. Give them yankees hell!

It's great work you're doing here, pj

I especially admire the way you are able to blend historic photos and in-game graphics with eachother in your newspaper articles. Everything looks like it really comes from a newspaper

Thanks for your support. I am enjoying writing the AAR. By reporting it as a newspaper it has almost feels like I am doing an alternate history like Turtledove did with "Guns of the South". Except I don't have to come up with the story, the game does it for me
However, the South takes a real blow in November. You will read about it soon. It threw me a curve.
