Lagging Mouse Problem

I have a lagging mouse problem. The movement is fine initially but begins to lag within 30 seconds or so. The mouse works best at zoomed in level. Behaves very poorly at high zoom levels.

My system appears to meet requirements.

HP Compaq Presario
AMD Semipron Processor 3200 + 1.79 GHz and 768 MB of RAM

I have an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000 with latest drivers.

Any idea why the severe mouse lag and how to solve the problem?

Thanks!

in the Birth of America folder, you have the AGEsettings utility. Launch it, in the second tab you have an option for hadware cursor. Tell me if things are better?

I was going to try Hardware also but I can't get the button to "stick". When I set Hardware and then open Utility again, it says Software. Why is that?

Deerslayer, strange. Mine is the same. When I doublechecked after changing to hardware, the mouse setting was back on software. However it doesn't seem to make a difference. My mouse continues working properly even though software is now checked rather than hardware.

the utility don't read the new value, so it initializes on software, even if the value is "hardware". On the other hand, if you don't click again on "change" then the value will stay on "hardware".
Can be confusing :)

Yep I could tell because in hardware I have my "system" mouse and software the BoA fancy one. :sourcil:
