Blocking land movement through rivers

Newb question. Is this possible if you station one or two river patrol boats in offensive mode in a river?

The current rule is two squadrons (4 units), any stance except passive blocks movement.

Just to clarifying a little... :siffle:
Jabber means (i think :innocent: ) two gunboat squadrons/units each composed of two elements/ship so they make 4 elements.
4 elements is what is needed... not 4 units.

Ohhh... that means some of my "blocked" rivers aren't... ouch. need more boats! :p leure:

I hope my pbem opponent isn't lookoing. :siffle:

What if I place gunboats in the Rappahonick as shown. It looks like he (Union) can still slip by to Fredericksburg on the left. Of course, I have Ft Monroe and am considering constructing a pair for this purpose.
