Captured Supply Units

Apparently captured supply units will not reinforce with replacement troops when their man power has become exhausted through attrition.

So then...once they become depleted is there anything that can be done with them? :sourcil:

I have quite a number just hanging around various depots doing nothing much. I can't use them to build new depots in their depleted condition, and I would think that without man power their supply potential wouldn't be worth taking them along in a stack. I was thinking about sending them into the desert to completely exhaust and vanish (if they will do so like troops units do) or maybe even sending them back for the doodlers to recapture, so they can whip them back into shape...then I can re-recapture them again. Possible??? :siffle:

Yeah, you can't reinforce any captured units. Arty or supply.

No never give units to the enemy  ...

A supply wagon with a single element even with just 1 hit remaining is VERY POWERFUL. It adds +10% to all the STACK, the equivalent of giving bonuses to a leader a leader +0,+2,+2

So put it in a "second - line" corps / division.

I always put captured supply with my Corps if because of the bonuses. I shift captured Art to strategic - objective cities for defense if those cities are short of Art.
Not sure if captured transports are good for anything though. I did capture 4 elements of those in one of my earlier games.

It has always struck me as a bit odd the way captured supply is handled in game.

It is as if not only the wagons and horse/mule teams were captured and put into your service, but also the actual teamsters themselves, instead of being paroled or sent to POW camps.

Then as the teamsters succumb to the rigors of the field no replacements can come from your conscripts pools.

Surely when Generals Jackson and Bragg were sending their massive captured trains ,loaded with Federal "goods" South ,from the valley and from Kentucky, they were driven by Confederate loyalists not the captured bluecoats.

Not a real big issue but a definite disconnect....at least for me.
