Loading a save game - problem resolved!

Hi,

Pardon my bluntness, but I am doing an AAR while at the same time playing a couple of solo games. When a click on the load game button it takes an eternity to bring up the games and the list is a mess. Even though I am using the cntl-save button combo, it is misery to find each game. I never see the custom name I give the file.

The game apparently uses a pretext of like 'CSA April 1862 (the turn)' and then the rest of the file description drifts away hidden. I have a lot of these save files as I have been saving my AAR every turn as I do with my solo games.

Am I missing something on how to better use this function? If not, wow, this function could use some redesign.

This is strange, I named the game I am playing (like "North"), and the save games are listed as USA - North <turn> (with or without a paperclip for saved orders for that turn).

No idea what you do different, I just named the game when I started it.....

The key thing is really just to name the game when you start the campaign, not once you are already in. That is why you get the "1861-July-USA....." before your save name.

Ah, that is why. I created my own problem. Pocus pointed out that doing multiple saves isn't necessary either. Thanks to both you and Pocus for helping me with this.
