Early in 1861 camp.csa invaded kentucky and they subsequently joined te union.a few turns ago kentucky milita liberated paducah.now in oct.'61 the kentucky legislature has voted to eject all invaders.do i ignore this event which i believe the csa will also do since ken. is supposedly part of the union and has been for awhile

i was lucky in that i was able to hold on to bowling green and the ai has'nt attempted to take it.though i have considerably strengthened it in the meantime.since i've been able to create ken.units i figure i should be able to ignore this event,it's elementary anyway i've got to much invested in that state paducah is a major base for future operations down the tenn.and cumberland rivers

yeah but whoever attacks first...throws KY allegence the other way...hence in PvP you have two opponents just sitting across from each other not attacking for the longest time.

To the Feds - if you leave Kentucky and Missouri ungarrisoned then you will lose what you have taken to Southern Patriots.
It has happenned to me the other way around when I tried to just seize as much of Kentucky and Missouri as I could early in the game.
Now I just wait for StLious massacre or Kentucky is invaded events. It is more economical - although having Athena at the doors of Nashville early June 1861makes me seat a little as CSA.

Excellent news!

Great choice indeed and it's not the only thing Clovis did that should be brought into the game imo.

Just like the historical events I prefet to invade as the south first as I would rather have the strategic ground over the benefits of the union striking first.
I have also found that if you strike 1st and take a significant number of Kentucky cities there is good chance you get an event of the state joining the CSA anyways! I use Polk to grab Paducah, and the Charlotte troops and a General or two from the east to take Bowling Green and hold Lexington. With Polk I just use the infantry, the Calvary I split off and using River transportation run up, grab Cairo, and destroy the depot before the Unions initial troops show up.

Several of these fine MODs are done by modifying the game output files directly, a complicated chore that achieves great results for the game, but is not conducive to allowing for easy updates for game patches. AGEod will not "officialize" output file work only, it has to be accompanied with the appropriate changes in the AACW_DB library files.
Over time, I have only been able to bring a few of their accepted ideas into the game by making the necessary changes to the database files.
Now computer crash is solved I will do that. I made some slight changes yesterday as I've yet to ponder some effects.
How does Union get away with this?

Playing as the South. I had Polk in Columbus and the Union attacked me without Kentucky coming over to the good guys. Is this something the game is not checking for?

I think the event only fire when either Bowling Green or Lexington are attacked by one side or the other. Not positive on that, but pretty sure that's how it works.
Bowling Green is pretty key to early success for the CSA IMHO....grabbing it and potentially grabbing Louisville soon after are more than worth the cost of the enemy having kentucky's favor.

Did the union actually take possession of Columbus? The events are designed to fire when one of the following regions changes hands:
McCracken (Paducah)
Hickman (Columbus)
Warren (Bowling Greene)
Jefferson (Louisville)
Fayette (Lexington)
Mason (Clarksburg)
Boyd
The last is probably a typo for Floyd, which is right next to it and contains Prestonburg, but Boyd is the trigger location.
