Siege Artillery

A quick question :-
The frontage rules generally allow up to 4 Corps artillery units to be used when engaging the enemy (I think this can be more if the terrain and weather conditions are perfect).
If I am besieging a town and have 2 siege artillery and 4 regular artillery can I be sure that the siege artillery bonuses will be used when calculating the siege result or will it take 4 artillery units at random?
If I also have 4 artillery units inside each division inside the Corps will these be used in the siege calculation?
Cheers, Chris

Abilities aren't affected by frontage, so you'll get effect for those, I'm sure. I also imagine that sieges have different frontage rules than open-landcape battles, i.e. allowing for more artillery to bear, but that's a guesstimate on my part.

Well the guide is just me stealing other peoples posts - I know nothing myself!
In the siege I am making at Richmond at the moment I must have at least 40 batteries. If they all counted would I not win the siege instantly if the opposition only has 10 - 20? (I'll have to take a look at the guide).
From memory it probably only means I have a maximum % chance each turn.

In the actual war the Feds made a mess of Richmond. They only took it in the end because Lee decided he no longer had the bility or the man power to hold it?
So I guess 40/50/60 batteries will not matter that much?Seiges usually end when the defender either surrenders or gives up a position? So maybe your game is just reflecting the reality of the war?

The historical seige of Richmond stretched across what would be at least three game regions. It involved an entrenched army holding territory outside the objective. I don't think that reflects the same situation Hobbes is focusing on.

I know but it is good for a leg pull - it would be a bit risky to stack all that artillery together against a human opponent though?Unless it was entrenched to a reasonable level.

The artillery is 4 per division and 6 at Corps level with 2 Corps in the region - this is the same in all my units. It's not a huge amount I think.

they all count. You get bonus to the siege role for each 30 pts of artillery and for siege artilleries too (but the special bonus don't stack I think)

I have not noticed the special bonuses stacking. Any CSA with artillery bonus does not seem to give stack any extra bonus. Forming a division with Alexander though proved very effective for several turns before Feds rolled over his division. When well entrenched though?
