War supply, how to increase the volume?

CSA lacks war supply almost permanent. I've tried to do something about it but can't say it seems to work. The blockade runners seems to bring in nothing (Transports). At least is no message about it displayed.
My Briggs are sinking a lot of enemy ships in the Shipping Box and hence make money, but it brings me no war supply. Is there any other way than building industry (which also takes war supply) and try to brake the blockade? Any hints are welcome.

You are using your ships in the wrong place.
There are 3 positions. 1 for destroying USA supplies (the one you are using) and 2 for bringing money & war supplies.
Move there your ships / put them evasive and hope for quick money.
Also... Buy more ships (perhaps 1 / turn if you can afford)
Also... invest in industry... 1 or 2 areas at minimum level of investment starting in mid 61 can be really enough.

My last game, albeit as the Union, I invested heavily in light industrialization, eventually in every area under my control in order to improve inherent supply rather than rely solely on transport.
I ended up with a really vast stockpile of War Supplies.
So much that I couldn't possibly afford the Money to use half of it up in a year building bloackade fleets, etc!
Obviously this was too much.
Judicious use of investment should yield a reasonable surplus of War Supply, it just takes a little experimenting to find a good balance, since it costs you Money & War Supply every turn.

Move your brigs/transports to the blockade boxes, not the shipping box.

My mistake, they are already in the Blockade box, in the Gulf. 6 transports seems to bring in 0 war supplies. Or as I said, haven't seen any messages about it. Do I have to use the Briggs, or?

Brigs & Frigates in the blockade boxes; light industialization in 2 or 3 states; significant battle victories --- that's how you gain war supplies. Your ships will bring back what you need most, so if you have more war supplies than money, they'll be hauling in money.
Be patient. As the CSA, the first year can be tough, especially if you heavily invest in transportation ... BUT, if you do things right, you'll fare pretty well later.

I bought a lot of Brigs early as CSA and put them in the blockade box, by mid game I had more war supplies than I could spend.
Cheers, Chris

Is there an answer for this question? Only brigs can serve as blockade runners? Or maybe transports only serve in this capacity in certain naval boxes?

Anything that has transport capacity can in theory be used as blockade runners. However, transports are not very good at evading enemies, and hence can just as easily become "blockade cannon fodder" as "blockade runner"
Are they bringing in no money as well? Shipping/blockade runs will bring in a combination of money and WS. the exact distribution thereof will vary based on what you seem to need.

Thank you Offworlder

. I am in a rather deep shit if only Briggs and Frigates bring in War supply. I have a lot more money then WS but my Briggs are only stealing money from the Union ships they are sinking in the Shipping Box.
So far I have lost only 2 ships of 30 in Gulf Blockade Box, but no WS so far....
If this is right one should only build Briggs and Frigates as blockade runners, but I can't say I have seen a clear and undisputet answer to this so far.
My experience is of no doubt though, and my WS is very low...Industries I am aware.

I see in these posts that frigates are recommended as blockade runners. If only brigs and transports have a transport capacity, why would one bother with frigates?

That is a very good question.
Any documentation, screenshot of message for instance that would prove the frigate/brigg issue are most welcome. And of course, if anyone have noticed that Transports are able to bring in WS as blockade runners, despite my own experiences.

I'm not really sure. First I built all the brigs available and set them up as blockade runners. Then I invested in a few transports because they have greater lift capability and sent them to the Gulf box where they would be relatively safe. Maybe that's where I'm wrong. They did not seem to bring in extra cash or war supplies but I might be wrong.
I only use frigates and later on steam frigates as raiders with Semmes at their head. Brigs are only used as blockade runners throughout the game and they are a very good investment.
