Very sure this question was answered early but i'm not sure:

¿What is exactly a hit? I mean, 1 hit=1.000 casualties?
It's very normal read bottom screen messages like "9.CSA group bombard Fort Donelson achieve 9 hits and being hit 14 times" or something like that.
I think is very hard know if your bombard has sunk a ironclad or so but would be very useful some kind of equivalence:

4 hits=gunboat, 10 hits=river ironclad, etc..

or

10 hits=wipe out a brigade.

Anyone knows?

Every unit has a specific number of hits, and each hit is represented by a specific number of men. A regiment of infantry has 20 hits, each hit is worth 50 men, for a total of 1000 men.

Where do you find this info? I had some naval/fort battles going on saying this many hits for this side and that many for this side but when I check them it appears they still have all their men.
