What's is the difference? Manual implies there is none best I can tell

Is Def. Eng at the leader level maybe and entrencher only at the element?

the descriptions are really different in my file?

Entrencher:
10% defensive fire bonus and 1 extra protection for the unit this element is in, if already entrenched.

Siege Engineer:
Provides a one point siege bonus to the whole stack when defending or attacking forts.

Ähm, jhdeerslayer was asking about the Defensive engineer, not the siege engineer. The Defensive engineer's description in the manual is indeed almost the same as the Entrencher's and they both have the same icon (the "^^" thingy). At least that's the case in the outdated written manual that came with the hardcopy. :)

Sorry Pocus but there is an Entrencher (Meade) and Defensive Engineer (Warren).

I was wondering what the difference is?

Oops, I ready too fast.

Almost is the word but the description is missing a word

10% defensive fire bonus and 1 extra protection when the stack is already entrenched.

Should read
10% defensive fire bonus and 1 extra protection for the stack, if already entrenched.

Entrencher act only for the unit:

10% defensive fire bonus and 1 extra protection for the unit this element is in, if already entrenched.

Thought so! Maybe you should fire the guy that did the manual. :sourcil: Oops, that was me... :innocent:
