Foreign Entry: Has anyone triggered it?

I am curious if anyone has managed to trigger foreign entry. It seems almost impossible, but once you do, I can't see the Union standing the remotest chance with large European Armies opening a second front, and big Navies to make life really miserable. In return, what do you get as the Union, some Mexican troops?
Anyhow, anyone done it? What happened next?

the current setup is bogus. I nearly got the FE, I was so close - and then some "pre-scribed" event told me that France would consider otherwise and took FE points away.
Really, there's no trigger to this event - it just comes wether or not you are on the brink of the Foreign Intervention.
And then it's easier to beat the Union on your own ...

In the grand campaign, with the CSA side, i brought, finally, the British intervention. But only AFTER the moral victory, when continue playing. I seems it's very hard to do it before.

I have never had it trigger to date, though I did play one aborted Union 4/61 game solo in which the confeds had every event go in thier favor. And I was worried...I restarted the game because of the AI settings more so then anything else but in retrospect I think the AI would have had intervention in thier favor in that match.

Just wondering; has anyone tried playing with the option for having foreign intervention easier to trigger? Or is everyone using the standard/default?

Well in an ongoing PBEM game I did manage to get the FE up to 100 in July of '64.
But much to my dismay, nothing happened. This is in version 1.04a. I think I seem to recall this bug being mentioned before, and possibly fixed in 1.05.

There was indeed a bug in the FE checks pre 1.05. I remember getting a save from someone (perhaps you) where after the fix, the entry triggered 2 turns after reaching 100.
