Hmmm.. Jackson or Smith's Command?

Weird. The unit is called "Jackson's Command" and indeed he has the seniority rank over Smith. However, Smith is shown at the head of the hierarchy in the unit panel. Sooo, what gives?

What I did: Took Johnson out of the 'Shenandoah' and this is what resulted.

These examples are from the 'Bull Run' scenario. I have taken J. Johnson out of the 'Shenandoah' for the time being.

OK, I took both Johnson and Smith out of the 'Shenandoah' and now Bee and his brigade jump up into first slot on the unit panel, although again the text shows Jackson as the commander. :bonk:

Probably has to do with rank. Even though Kirby Smith and Bee have more seniority or higher politics than Jackson, Jackson has greater rank.

It must default stack commander by rank, then seniority/politics, but arranges the units via seniority/politics ignoring rank. Should they all be the same rank, it would be Smith's Command.

Do you have the Leader on Top option checked? I do and all my leader are right this option checked sort the stack by seniority, I believe.

Really? I thought by 'top' they meant as it appears on the board, not in the unit panel.

Does Jackson appear on top on the board? Also what version are you running, are you running full game or demo, do you have any ad hoc patches on it?

Man, I need to get to bed. I am playing the april 61 campaign so maybe each scenario is set different, because anytime I drop a newer high rank like a one or a two with a two or a three then the three show first then the two and two then the one. Doesn't matter who I mix and match.

Is it possible to promote the other brig gen? I didn't think a high seniority could out do the rank field.

v1.06 full version, Jackson does not appear on the top of the stack. Smith does. I believe I have 'leaders on top' checked, but not the 'reorganize back into one pile' or whatever it is called.

It's late.....

yeah I have the regroup checked for me.

Get this I just had the game move T. Crittendon to NC from clarkville TN.

He was in the west one turn then next turn he was with Bulter and Burnside in the NC expedition. :tournepas :tournepas :tournepas

I think if you play this game really long the log files get really long and the game does weird stuff. Just goes to show you that your not the only one that gets oddities

yeah I send you evidence when I get home. I had him in clarkville as the leader of a stack then game moved him during phase after pushing the end game. So I jumped out of my game when to save hit the home key and he was back in clarkville then processed the turn and it did it again. Its in the same save game as my other error I posted about McClernand name change.

Might need to hit home twice on the save files I am sending to you via files upload to see T. Crittendon in Clarkville. then run the saved game one turn and should get same results. I ran it twice because i wasn't sure myself that did happen.
