Problem: Units Disappeared

I had a huge battle with the Yankees (Combined 35,000 casualties). I had three or four generals wounded. One of the wounded was Jackson who I had in charge of a corps.

He is rehabilitating and I can't find the units in the corps anywhere. I had four or five artillery units attached to the corps and they are gone. They were not casualities in the battle. Anyone else had this happen?

At one point, I know there was a bug when a leader was removed by event, the troops he was with disappeared as well. I believe the developers looked at this issue. I think the resolution was to remove the problematic 'leader removal' events -- one was Patterson, one was Fremont.

I havent seen this in combat myself yet, and havent heard of this happening to others. Not sure what to tell you.

It happened also in one of my tryout games with Patterson. It's definitely there with patch 1.06.

The artillery may have been captured.

Units disappearing when a leader was removed by event only affected divisions. I have never seen or heard of a corps leader taking his whole corps with him. Did you lose the divisions in Jackson's corps?

Gray_Lensman wrote:The Patterson removal event is still in the game, so Patterson disappearing is not so unusual, unless he took units with him. That was supposed to be fixed, but I'm not so sure the fix is working correctly. I normally wouldn't see this, as Patterson is so crappy, I never give him any units as a Corps or Division, although there are usually a couple of units that are in the same group with him when he arrives.

I regrouped his Left and Right Flanks in his stack before making him one of McDowell's Corps. I do not remember if I added other troops to his command, though.

I lost a corps of units as well. They were there on one turn, in supply, no enemies but a few reb cavalry running around. The next turn I went to look for this unit to move them and all that was left in the stack were 2 generals with no units.

I checked and re-checked the log, but there was no combat, no "unsupplied" warnings, nothing. Later I noticed that some of the other generals that had been in that stack were recuperating at various towns. This stack had Patterson in it but with someone else as the Corps commander. Very odd.

Patterson, Scott and Cooper events remains. This is on purpose. Don't give a division to Patterson and that's it.
Corps can't disappears this way.
Bloody7th, check if you have the units in the roster as well and check all messages too. This can be due to disease or winter damages also.

This has happened more than once to mee too but only after a battle was lost. The general is back in some town recovering from wounds while the whole corps vanished or, at least his units aren't with him in that town.

Despite not checking the roster to ascertain about the doom of these units, I'm playing the Gettisburgh scenario a lot and since there's no possibility to recruit new units, i would immediately notice an increment of units in another Corps.

I suspect after a defeat, sometimes, the corps get completely disbanded and the general who may not die according to his high rank remains.

I'm beginning to think I lost my Corps due to lack of supply or replacements and not too any bug or glich (aside from my inability to command lol).
