Has anyone been able to build a fort? I have tried multiple times in different locations and cannot seem to be able to build one. I have four batteries and two supply units and still nothing. Has anyone been able to build one?

The batteries have to be all of the same gun type.

Unless I am much mistaken, forts can only be built in existing structures (e.g. towns). Is that where you're trying to build, or are you building outside any existing structures?

supply must not be too depleted, artilleries must not be too damaged.

Artillery types can be different though.

If the artillery units can be different then I am not sure why it hasn't worked for me. I am going to try again later today when I get a few free minutes. Can you build forts anywhere?

No, just in existing structures, e.g. towns

I guess that is why I am having the same problem trying to build a depot.

Somehow I was under the impression you needed a leader present in order to build these?

Any luck with this ?

I`d like to build a Fort, after a landing, on an existing structure on the CSA coast, however past what was said here, the tool tips when passed over the icon also say that other things enter into it, like size, etc.

Since it`s a large investment buying the 2 each gun units & 2 supply, plus the landing force, I`d like to be sure it works.

Anyone actually built one in the Game ?

Thanks

i built a fort in game

besides having the guns and supply oyu have to have certain level of control in the region. its been awhile, but if i remember right it is 50%.

don't you also need an engineer?

Based on Pocus's comments a few days ago in another forum, Engineers will speed up the time it takes to build or destroy railroads, so I imagine they do the same for forts. I don't think they are a necessity though.

I had 2 Gun units and 2 supply units and a leader and tested to see if it would build a fort in NYC...it would.

Shipped the same units to Norfork and it would not....nice to get some hard info from the Devs on what the actual requirements are.

I built a fort at Norfolk, as the confeds, I had 2 supply and more then 8 batterys of different guns. The fort built, and the tool tip even indicated the time to complete it. I never checked to see how many gun batterys it did use, but if I recall you need 4 guns 2 supply you also need to have "control" of the county? or province in question.

Thanks ! Looks like control of the province is the key.

indeed, must be 51% or something like that, if possible I tend to use the same % for several things.
