Corps limits, and other questions

The more I play, the more I appreciate the elegance of this game's design. And the more questions I generate. Here are my latest! Thanks in advance.

1. I know each side has a limit on divisions (e.g., 48 for the Union). Is there any such limit on Corps, other than the need to have enough 2-star generals?

2. Likewise, is there any limit to the number of Corps that can be commanded by a Single Army?

3. I'm playing the Union in the spring of 1862, and I have to keep 12 "units" (according to one tooltip) or "brigades" (according to another) "adjacent" to Washington until June 1862. I assume this means Regular brigades, not irregular, militia, artillery, etc. And does "adjacent" mean either Washington or any of its several neighboring counties (Montgomery, Manassas, Baltimore, etc.)?

Many thanks.

1. Not an arbitrary limit. See answer to question 2.

2. Each army can sustain a base number of Corps, plus a number of corps equal to the strategic rating of the army commander. I don't know how many base Corps an army can support.

3. Any combat unit is sufficient. I always keep them in DC. No idea if you can put them in Alexandria or surrounding areas.

6+strat rating. Yes it is much, but we must take into account McClellan here :)
