Can we get an inkling of when some of the intermediate length scenarios (i.e. single theatre or single year campaigns) might be released? I know AGEOD is working hard on fixes and improvements to the game, so this is not a criticism, but just hoping for something meatier than the battle scenarios for someone who is not yet ready to take on the whole war.

one is in the testing, but the betas are either busy or have moved to others interests... perhaps we can do a public beta testing on this half campaign, this would speed up issues finding...

Has anyone played the the Western campaign beta scenario yet? Is it difficult or am I a bit thick?

Did I miss something? Where is this posted? Don't see it in 1.03...

What file or folder do we download it to? Need some instruction on what to do. Thanks.

My strictly unofficial instructions are:
There are 4 files on the zip you have to copy and paste them manually like this:

the .scn file goes on "scenarios" folder
The two .inc file goes on the "includes" folder
The .sct goes in the "scripts" folder

I have tested and works ok: you find the new scenario with the other ones on the main menu. Its the one with the "funny name"
I have opened it and seems to work OK.

By the way: i thought it was the complete war on the western theater, but is a shorter (24 turns) scenario: western campaign from late feb 62 to late feb 63.

It's probably a good scenario for a first timer limited area and units. certainly much easier to get a grip on things.

The .sct file goes in the events folder.

Actually I find the mid-length scenarios, such as Montcalms 32 turn game, far more enjoyable than any of the short 6-10 turn scenarios. Also the mid-length scenarios are a very nice change of pace from the exhausting marathon of the complete war type scenario. The lower unit density helps as well. I wish there were more scenarios of the mid-length.

These smaller campaigns would be a REALLY big draw for people like me who only have so much time to devote to gaming. Please, please, please restore the beta links or (better yet) release them already!

I did try the one year western theater scenario and it seemed in pretty good shape. As far as I can remember it still needed updating for the new HQ rules.

I agee it's very important to have at least one mid size scenario, the small ones are nothing more than a simple learning tool.

I will remind PhilThib to export the western campaign.

I'd really like to see that Eastern campaign, too.
