I'm having a severe leader shortage as the Union. I seem to be missing a lot of low level divisional leaders. I've scoured the files and can't seem to find where they are added. The list is huge. Something like 20 I've found so far.

Anyone else having this problem? Am I imagining it?

If this turns out being another game with a "leader bug," I'm gonna pull out a knife and shoot myself.

I think there is a leader list as pdf included with the game which lists also the date of appearance, so you could check if they are all there.

If you were referring to that list just forget what I said.

I just ran a hands off game (I played both sides and immediately ended the turn) and the following Union leaders never appeared.

Having completed my fourth April GC game, I can confirm most of your list of Union generals not appearing. In my last game I kept playing until may 1865 to see what events would happen.

I have received Streight (Lightning Mule Bde), Willich (Horn Bde) and Kilpatrick in every game and possibly Dodge in one of my earlier games. The leaders numbered in the 300's appear to be OK, but I have never seen any of the 500 numbered leaders.

You're right. I went back through and located those guys attached to their brigades, but the people in the 500's are definitely missing.

There are some leaders who are 'generic' like M. Bonham, D. Hunter or T. Runyan whose first name isn't in the game, and are not listed on the leaders .pdf file. I'm guessing you've found the generic leaders, who are not scripted to appear.

The role of 'generic' leaders is unclear to me. Perhaps they are in there for possible inclusion as replacements for casualties at some point.

Yes, they are too 'generic' to be added in the leader's list, it's just for chrome...

Most of the leaders are in the DB 'just in case' we may need some. A lot are present as generic leaders in only some campaigns and not others. For sure, 90% of them will NOT show up in a GC...I just lacked time and ressource to search and add them whenever required leure: .
