AI with no FOW = very bad idea.

I am currently playing a USA campaign against the CSA AI, at very hard setting ans no FOW for the AI, in the hope that it would provide the ultimate solo player challenge. However afer only 15 months or so (it's July 1862) and I've already captured Richmond. Instead the AI is going silly with lots of attacks behind my lines. While this makes a lot of sense in the West, and even Kentucky to some extent, this has made the eastern campaign a cakewalk. I have ignored the AI stacks at Harpers Ferry and Winchester (or at least screened them) and have just gone straight for the jugular towards Richmond (easily taking Manasas, Fredricksburg and Charlottesville as well).
In contrast my CSA game on normal with one notch up for the AI FOW setting was at least a nice challenge, I tried to go to Washington a couple of times but was beaten back due to a nice sizeable force there.
In general, it looks as though the FOW setting for the AI is a proxy for it's offensiveness ability, which makes it neglect it's defences in it's rear areas at higher settings.
