leaderless divisions

coming to our favourite topic 
- you can add a brigade to a 1-star leader. not clear to me whether is any advantage in doing that (not a save in Command Points it seems)
- piling up brigades with a division HQ you get a division. fine. you can then add a 1-star commander. is there any advantage in doing that? (have the impression that in some cases is not possible
- there are brigades with generals' names on it. is it for 'flavour' purposes or do piling up brigades and generales with the same name offer any advantage?
