I know ,as the manual says, that the supply algorithm is quite complex but can anyone explain how the chain of distribution works with more detail? How many maximum regions can be between structures? Minimum military control a line can be traced over over the region?

To be able to use rail for transport, you need to have at least 25% military control; I'd guess that the same applies for using it for supply purposes?
