Confederate Blockade Runners?

OK, I've read every thread that even hints at the subject of blockade runners, and maybe I'm just dense, but nowhere have I seen an description of what a "blockade runner" unit is supposed to be.
Is there a specific ship counter labeled as a "blockade runner", or do you just move a Brig or Frigate to the Blockade box?

use brigs as they have a transport capacity, as I've understood. Frigates you use as commerce-raiders...

Theoretically sea transports can be used too, but this is said to inadvisable due to their low Evade ability.

there is no hard coded unit. Logic should prevails

What is a blockade runner: something that can transport stuff and don't get caught easily... in the game a brig. But as Jim says, you can use everything that floats, if you take the risk!

My question would be, by taking the risk (i.e. sending a couple of transports with low evasion rating), would you see them return with more money and war supplies than, say, two brigs?

Indeed, does a larger transport capacity = larger monies/goods recieved?

No, no related effect. Better use a Brig, they are cheaper and more difficult to catch

May I suggest that Phillipe's answer is included with some variation of el Gato's question in the FAQ? It's a useful thing to know (I was about to send my transports to their doom

)
