About the designers

I guess this is most directed to Phil and Pocus, but there may be others that contribute to the design process.
I am very impressed by your ability in 4 areas:
1) Historical accuracy
2) Game mechanics that mirror actual real world considerations
3) How well your programming translated this design
4) How well you keep all of it fun for us to play the game
I was just wondering. Do you feel that you are mainly wargamer designers first or programmers first?

Well,
First, all of us are wargamers. Even Robin, our Art Director, is a huge fan of strategy games.
Second, some of us are really interested in game designing. That's mainly Philippe Thibault, who has a huge experience in boardgames and PC games, and Philippe Malacher (Pocus) who enjoys a solid game culture. Others give inputs too but 95% of the engine it's these two.
Third, programming. Well, that's Pocus sole responsability (with Yoann (Celtic) since monday). Philippe Thibault works also on the campaign scripts, even if it's not "programming" as such.
But AGEod as a company has to cover much more functions. Accountancy,
Art direction, graphics, communication, soundtrack, web administration, historical researches, beta testing, manual writing...
There is much more people behind a game that you might think. All of them are not posting in this forum, so don't forget to read the credits!!

5) Customer service.
6) Access to the designers.
7) Rapid response to needs for help; extremely thorough and rapid patches.
They have not just created the games of the decade, they are the independent software publishing company of the decade in my opinion.
