Not all Ldr Abilities in Unit Detail?

I just got the game. I played BoA for quite awhile, nice system.
I just started the Gettysburg battle scenario. I was checking commander abilities and this is weird.
Checking McLaws and Pickett, I see on their counter skills that don't show in their Unit Detail screen. I think two that where not there are Training Officer and Dispirited Leader.
Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

More on this. I now notice the abilities shown on the leader when the leader is in a division. It counter in the unit display shows the additional abilities hover the cursor to look at the units in the division the leader portrait show with the brigades doesn't show these additional ability icons.
Also my front loading screen, in the lower left hand corner say version 1.01a. But I have installed the 1.09 patch.

Hm, there is no 1.09 update (yet) - are you sure you didn't download the BOA update instead?

I'm also a bit confused about the version you're seeing....
At any rate, here's an explanation on what these two leaders should have (See officer's rating sub-forum within the history forum):
McLaws gets the "Slow-Move" trait and 3/1/3 combat values
Pickett gets the "Hothead" trait and 3/1/1 combat values
Sometimes when a division is formed up with a leader, you will see some of the qualities of the units within the division next to the leader's picture (sharpshooters, strong morale, etc.) I'm not quite sure where you're getting the training officer or dispirited leader from.

Okay, I see about the patch. I downloaded the right patch, which doesn't say what version it is. but on my desktop I looked at the BOA patch and saw the version. Nothing wrong here.
I still would like an explanation of my Leader Ability question above.

Well one of the leader (can't check right now) has what looks like a bunny and a riflemen, and a group of 6 dots in a square with a plus. Sorry I said dispirited, its the opposite.

Ha

... I like the way you described it.
This all actually makes sense (I promise

). For instance, in Pickett's division: The "bunny with the rifleman" is "sharpshooters" (click on the regiment symbol for the 56th VA....you'll see the unit detail screen pop up and this regiment has this trait).....the the "square of dots with the + " is "strong morale" (click on any of the regiments of the "Gamecock Brigade" and you'll see the trait)
In a unit detail screen, if you hover your mouse above these special trait icons, you'll get a description of what the trait is and how it works.

Where is Hood's division?

Yes Hood's division is missing.
The Beta team didn't really get a look at the Gettysburg scenario until after the release, so we weren't able to catch any of the problems.
That said, we've suggested some fixes for the order-of-battle problems....I imagine these changes will go into a patch at some point.

I dont want to create a new thread so i post my question in this...
I have a division commander in one of my CSA army's, who gives 20% attack bonus to all artillery units.
Is that bonus for all units in the army or for his division units only?

the sentence should be something like 'the leader will give xx bonus to the whole stack', if it applies to the army (the stack), otherwise it should say 'to the unit the element is in'. I would think the former in this case.

Thank you Pocus! But i think thats a bit "unrealistic". Why does a division commander benefits other elements of other divisions in a corp? I think the spezial abilities must count for his own division.
For example: In a battle, my division commander (Alexander - 20% for artillery) is at the right flank of the army and commands his units. He's riding with his horses behind the batteries and give some heroic speeches.

The batterie crew is impressed and is loading/firing faster now (and makes 20% more damage).
The left flank of my forces, Hoods Division with some artillery units aren't impressed, cause they dont know whats happing at the right flank.
Why should hoods batteries get a bonus for that?

Perhaps at the planning session ahead of the battle, Alexander took Hood aside and described a way of organizing the artillery for better firing efficiency and ways to ensure proper communication between spotters and gun crews?
(Playing Devil's Advocate here...

I think an ad hoc "grand battery" is assumed to be formed during battle (like Lee did at Gettysburg), in which case an Artillist gets to play with all the guns in the force.

The 2 opinions are to be considered yes, the beta decided for a stack effect though... I don't mind either

Another leader question
If I have 2 commanders in an army stack, both have the artillery bonus. The battle resolution screen shows 2 artillery bonus buttons, so did only one count or both (40% offensive bonus then)?
Thank you

no this won't stack, the battle report display everything without too much subtlety on that, true.
