Hi ALL...

Seeing that I am new here. I thought that I would ask a few Q's(Questions).
I have the MatrixGames version of this ACW type game. Im not really a fan of having to run the Economy....That being said...

1) do you have to set production and build an infrastructure in this game?
2) do you just get a set amount of Troops and money ?

Really what I am Asking is......Im looking for a Game that lets me Choose the Troops and Millitary hardware I want. But most of all lets me be the GENERAL without me having to Micro Manage the Economy.(I HATE THAT)

Is this the game for ME ??

Thanks in advance

A simple answer...YES!
I was a beta tester for COG and FOF at Matrix and i have BoA and AACW. With AACW you can pick your forces ie:Elite Infantry, Frigate, Medical Corps etc. but the Economy is a matter of adjusting/making a few choices...very intuitive.

Good to know

In the campaigns you can choose for example to add factories (1-3) to a few states capable of building them. You can raise taxes, take a loan(bonds), print money...that's about it. There is some diplomacy and politics but nothing too heavy.

The "economy" side of AGEOD's game is handled very simpy - not simplistically, though. You will find that you are placed at the right level - so, you will be considering whether to call for volunteers or to issue bonds to raise money, but you won't be choosing whether New York needs a new house or a regiment needs prettier uniforms.
IN AACW, you are right at the top of the command tree and you face the dilemmas at that level without worrying about QuarterMaster or Town Council stuff.
