How to question...

Playing april 1861 campaign. I want to organize some units into Divisions. I have plenty of Generals but I know I need a Div HQ unit in the stack to do this but can't find how to create them. I thought I could request them on the Reinforcement Ledger but there is no Tab for HQ Units. Can I have some advice please.

Another question that I can't find answered in the manual. When I highlight a unit, not a commander, and hold down the "shift" key, blue and grey lines project out from the unit in all directions and I can figure out what it is suppose to represent.

I think that on the first turn you are unable to recruit any army or division HQs as the Union, but on the second turn you should be able to recruit one of each, then more on the following turns. My numbers may be off a bit, but that's the way I remember it.

Also, they're found under the support tab.

You can build Division HQ's from the reinforcement ledger, the tab 'Support'. Note however that not all units are available from the very beginning of the war. In fact if you start the 1861 campaign and try to build units in the first turn you will see that your force pool is still a bit empty.

The colored lines show you the links between the regions. If, for example, a light blue line is drawn from your position to a adjacent region you know that you have to cross a river to reach that region.
