How does one get his profile picture to show up as a avatar on a forum post?

I don't remember exactly but you have to see in your profile : Forum Actions and profile setting i think.

Hi Joe Wheeler,

You have to edit your profile to add the image that you want to show as avatar (uploading it from your computer or from an URL).

In the upper left area, you can see a set of options. Click on Forums Actions, and then click on Edit Profile. Now, you'll see other options listed on the left. Edit Avatar is the correct place to click and put your avatar.

It is very easy.

There are also restrictions based on time on the forums and number of posts. I don't remember them right now, but there are some.
