Leaders

I have a question about leader development.

Say that you have an army made up of three corps all in the same region, These then fight a battle and win. How will this effect the different leaders in the stack?(with regard to their VP, political values etc). Surely the army commander will get a positive boost for winning, but will all the corps and division commanders be rated on their individual performance or are they just considered to also have "won". My point being that commanders with bad ratings (but high seniority/VP) who may not have contributed to the victory could then still benefit from that victory and prohibit you from promoting an excellent commander (who won you the battle by charging the enemy line) because they have low seniority/VP.

How does this work in the game?

each stack is considered separately, so you can have Jackson congratulated for his part of a battle while having Polk blamed (a bit, lets say chastised). Also, in a given stack, if you have leaders into divisions, each one is also considered separately.
Leaders who are not affected, from a political and seniority standpoints are subordinates leaders in a stack which are in the staff, ie not commanding a division.

What happens to captured leaders? are they exchanged or do they remain prisoner?

i believe that currently, captured leaders are removed from the game...however theres some discussion to include them in the prisoner exchanges.

There is no such things as captured leaders for now, sorry (you can indeed consider that the Death dice roll at the end of battle is also taking into account capture). Perhaps in a patch...

Is there a boost/penalty to National Morale when a major leader dies or is captured?

yes, each unit or leader has an associated cost when killed.

Can leaders be wounded in battle? or can they only get killed?

They can be wounded too, in which case, they go to the nearest victory location (I believe) to "recover".

When you choose the randomize generals option will their seniority and politics ratings also be randomized ?

yes, this is based on the standard values, altered by -10/+10% if weak randomization, -20/+20% with medium randomization and -30/+30% for high randomization.
