For your enjoyment.

The AGEOD team recognize the enormous number ofvolunteer hours spent improving the Rail network accuracy, additionof new regions to enhance historical play, creation and adaptation ofthe "Kentucky Mods" to give a different "feel" tothe start of the war, numerous other fixes and enhancements byvarious modders to the Database, and public beta testing of newexecutables and changes. Without the efforts of the community, AACWwould not be as complete as it is today. We all know games are neverperfect or can ever be considered as finished, but help andinvolvement of our fan base always leads to a better product, and, once again, THANK YOU ALL!

AGEod's American Civil War Update 1.16a
April 24, 2012
================================================== ========================
The patch is a comprehensive patch, meaning it can be applied directly over your initial game installation setup version.

. Latest Game Engine (120413)
. Fixed: Ledger no longer closes with <right-click>
. Fixed: Transports carrying large troop formations were pillaging ocean regions
. Fixed: ''Looping'' patrol orders that plot the starting region as the ending region now properly move
. Fixed: A 'stealthy unit' [undetected] cannot totally block gains in MC. A ratio of Patrol factors is used, with some MC gained by a large
force on the last day of a turn.
. Fixed: Erroneous logic for Militia movement outside home area
. 1862 East & 1862 West Campaigns:
. Removed event-driven upgrades from 12lb Artillery to 20lb Artillery
. Models and Units:
. All states in the Western regions that have Artillery in the Unit build pool, but lack WSU producing regions at start of April 1861 [MS, TX, AR, MO and KS] now have Alternate Areas defined for unit build [the KS 6lb was omitted before, and the change log was unclear about the Areas affected.]
. Other:
. Added Camden, VA (Burkeville) to the ￾Close to Richmond￾ area
. Added latest parameters for ￾gblended movement rates￾h on roads. [in \Settings\GameLogic.opt]
Are there any differences between the official patch and the last release candidate?

Carpetbag and I have a frozen ocean at (and near) the Bahamas in our current game, which greatly upsets the Tourism Board there as well as all the Global Warming folks. Is this a known issue, or should I post stuff?

Edit: After I realized I had not upgraded this pc to 1.16a I did so, and VIOLA (pronounced VYE-OH-LUH down South)! The oceans melted! So, nvr mind and tyvm!

Use of patches

Hi everybody,

Since I am new to both AACW and this forum (they are both great), I need to ask you a basic question: does every patch also include the previous ones? So, do I just need to install this patch 1.16a on my computer or do I also need to download all of the previous ones (1.15, 1.14)?

Thank you in advance - my copy of the game already started to crash on Windows 7, and it is brand new!

As it says in the first post:
"The patch is a comprehensive patch, meaning it can be applied directly over your initial game installation setup version."

Maybe this is answered somewhere but I was unable to find it. Does the Mac version ever get patched? I'm still at 1.03 and it sounds like the improvements made in the various patches would be nice to have.

Solution is to run the windows version using a windows emulator. Did have problems during a a PBEM between two Mac versions.

Well, I already paid for the Mac version so I don't really want to go out and buy a duplicate Windows version. I do have Parallels Desktop and Windows Vista but prefer to play on the Mac side when I can. I take it though that means there are no Mac updates (same problem with Napoleon's Campaigns too)

Two benefits to buy the windows version: PBEM works and you receive some pretty good enhancements. I use Parallels and Vista.

I am running an LP on the 1863 CSA campaign with 1.16, and so far it's the most amazing thing I have ever seen from you.

If you want feedback to your patch, perhaps you should read my LP, that's the most feedback one can give I think.

Warning, there is occasional foul language, please don't flame me for that: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/lets-cause-extreme-butthurt-by-defeating-the-north-in-aacw.71875/page-3

Hi folks!

I recently upgraded to 1.16a patch from 1.15 and I've noticed something that I hadn't seen so far. It appears in the reinforcements pool...

What does this mean?

Thanks in advance, guys!

Rail Pool is the points you use for moving forces and supply by rail...an increase of rail pool is good, it means your capacity is larger... consider it like your "naval pool" or "river pool" on rails ;)

Usually, there are more events that decrease the rail pool that one(s) that increase it....

Ah! OK. ;)

Thanks a million, Philippe, for your quick answer.

Hi Ethan,

You can also see river pool at the same place.
After getting a first hint from JimNC at the same question, I found it is the rail (or river) points which you are currently using to move your forces and which will be "freed" at the end of next turn resolution because your force have reached their destination. It is not exactly additional points that your get, it is points that you were using for forces transport and which will be available next turn for other purpose.

That is a convincing explanation, Gatling. In fact, it could not be explained better!

Many thanks, dude.

Hi all!

I've started a game with 1.16 patch and I've just realized that in the unit detail panel you can't see (like in 1.15 patch) the blockade value for each unit. I think it's very useful, for example, when you want to buy ships for blockade and you need to know which one has the highest blockade value.

Could you re-add this feature to the unit detail panel?

Thanks in advance!

Into 1862 in a pbem and everything works just fine--great work Lodi et.al.

One small item, the MS Bde available reinforcement--Featherstone's (Posey's, Harris') Brigade (also known as 2nd Mississippi Brigade)--has it's ID on the elements list to the right (only) listed as NULL.

I am unable to download the patch. Tried on two machinies, Win 7 band Vista. Both with IE 9.
Pop-up blocker off.
I tried to download it from: http://cdvusa.com/
If I click on "download now" I get error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage "
If I right-click and try to "save target as" the file patch_AACW_v1_11d_exe appears but Explorer says file couldn't be downloaded.
I tried with anti-virus program off, same thing.

I got the abouve .zip patch ok.

Any help much appreciated.

But...

The above zip file is THE latest patch, 1.16a, why are you trying to download an ancient, outdated patch from a third-party site ??

I have just reinstalled ACW on my PC, Win7 64 bit, and it works fine. However, trying to download 1.16a is another story. When I hit the patch link in this thread, I keep getting a " to help protect your security, your web browser blocked this site fron downloading files to your computer. Click here for options." Whenever I click and hit download file, the same message reappears. I've tried to do this over and over but without success. I'm using Internet Explorer 9. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
