It's October 1859 in our Pride of Nations 16-player MP campaign. President Buchanan is still in power, but the American Civil War event has just fired.

We don't know how it will play out, but if some of you veteran AACW players want to try how the ACW plays in PON, here's your chance.

What? What?

There's no substitute for our beloved AACW (aka Athena's Gonna Getcha, Sucka!).

To There's No Business Like Show Business:

There's no conflict
Like our conflict,
Like no conflict we know;

Everything about it is appealing,
Everything is cannonballs and shot,
The wounds you've got will not be healing;
No sanitation
And no clean cot!

Yes, there's no bloodbath
Like our bloodbath,
Like no bloodbath we know,
So charge the breastworks!
Give it a go!

Yes, let's get on with the carnage,
The best mass mayhem
That...We...Knoooooow!

I believe the war aspect is much less represented in our game, since it is not dedicated on the ACW alone. But in PoN, you also have to deal with worldwide economic aspects. In our game, the player sent a message to all other nations not to intervene as long as the civil war is on.

Wow, this sounds like -way back when- when I used to play Empires in Arms with a group of like 7 players. 2 hours of politics and 15 minutes of moving and battling :thumbsup: per turn :bonk:

If you happen to have PON, load the turn and tell us if it can be close to the real thing. At the moment you can only play the Union, but we are working to make the spawned Confederates as well.

What I like in PON is that external factors, essentially other nations, can influence the outcome. We are even entertaining the eventuality of CSA actually winning the war... and continuing with such a power in the 70s...
