Tips for finding cities?

Since the map is so vast, I find it a little difficult to navigate sometimes. For example if I just had a city taken by the enemy, sometimes it's like searching for a needle in a haystack to find that city again in a later turn. I've searched through the manual and I haven't found anything similar to the Force List but for cities/towns.
Anyone have any tips to share on this?

The best method I have found is memorization. When I started, I could not find the cities easily. Now, I know where they are. The longer you play the game, the easier it is to know what cities/towns are where, and which are the important ones.
The other thing is that if the city is important, you get a message about it (like "we have lost Norfolk, we have known better days"). If there was a battle, you can click on the red line for the battle, and it will take you to the area.

Good point, I believe it will just have to come from memorization. I have no problem with the cities in the east, but the west I'm still learning. It would be cool to have a screen that lists every city in alphabetical order and you could click to go to each city. Not a show stopper by far though.. Thanks for the reply.

I could be mistaken but I am fairly sure that each time you take our loose a city there is a line entry in the mailbox.
Clicking on the line should take you to the location. I think I have also seen a replay turn option which will show you everything that happened during that last turn. If you review that you should be able to remember where it was.

I agree with Jim. The best thing is memorization. Soon you will not have trouble locating the main cities.

I think it will only be notified when it is an objetive town (or at least a strategic town).

Before memorization I've actually used Google maps several times - finding approximate location and state of the city, thus narrowing the search on in-game map

No, you get a notification anytime you lose a structure. I always go through and click on every line during the turn. That will teach you the geography real quick.

Thanks for the clarification, Pat!
Jennison, another option would be to search in Google the region that the city is in and then find the region in the game with the "Region Finder" option, i.e., "Ctrl" key + "F" key.

No, you receive a message for any structure that changes hands. I think the "We have known better days" message is what only pops up when an objective or strategic town is captured.

OK. Thanks for the info. It's something that I hadn't realized.
