I recently had a odd thing in my PBEM. I tried to sneak through enemy controled provinces (100% enemy military control) fully loaded supply wagons to my surrounded (not besieged) troops.
Supply wagons were on passive and evade combat orders.
But when they arrived at their destination next turn, they were completely empty(0/80 supplies), as if they had to ditch they cargo in order to get through enemy lines.
My question is this working as designed (it has some logic in it), or is this some buggy/odd behavior.
My PBEM host is on a trip, so I cannot provide you with a save game at the moment, but he may provide you with a save game next week.

Just a wild guess, but Supply chains cannot flow thru 100% oppo MC.

Maybe you can't 'manually' transport Supply either - whether this is intentionally designed is another question, but it wouldn't surprise me that this is an unintended result per some coding.

Just 'cuz it compiles, doesn't mean the program runs exactly the way you wish it to.

Were the Wagons escorted by Supply eating units? How long did the trip take? Weather? - all relevant factors.

I suppose you are referring to our current PBEM and more specifically to your force in Louisville ?

I can try to advance an explanation : your supply wagons had to provide supply for the 3 divisions in Louisville and the 2 (if I remember well) divisions of Jackson because all of them were out of range from Nashville or Bowling Green. It means at least 175 supply points (I would bet even more) have to be spent and they are taken in the first place from wagon.

I'll post the saved game as soon as I'm back home (not before friday evening).

Yeah, those supplies went to your troops, just maybe not the ones you wanted. Forces can draw from supply wagons not in their region if I'm not mistaken.

But that is the point, they didnt provide anything to surrounded troops in Louisville. And Jackson had 3 other wagons stacked with him.
According to my calculations, some supply could have gone to Jackson, but
not 160 supply points without even leaving 4 points/wagon for crews of the wagons themselves.

I wonder if troops in Louisville were foraging for food (empty wagons, more demand than supply), could there been an error in the code that forced the wagons to be depleted.

Louisville troops should have received from the wagons only what they needed to be fed this turn. There won't be any increase in "personal" supply (i.e.carried by each force) = no transfer from wagon to unit. So if supply requirement was a little bit higher than the sum of supply generated by Louisville and supply available in wagons, wagons would be emptied and the missing part taken on remaining personnal supply.

What is not clear for me is if wagons with Jackson would be used before or after using all personal supply of Louisville force (edit : I think supply from Jackson's wagons would be used before using personal supply).

Don't forget that Jackson troops will get their supply first from wagons (as I think he is out of range from Bowling Green and Nashville due to bad weather). Now I agree with you that 4 points/wagon should have been kept.

I took a closer look at all surrounding forces and there is no missing supply. It has only not been redistributed according to expectations.

It seems Lee and Jackson used up supply in detached wagons rather than in wagons stacked with them (maybe something to do with supply/usage ratio of given stacks in adjacent regions).

Everything is OK, expect 0/80 supply in the wagons (not leaving 4 supply in wagons for personal use is certainly not WAD), if those wagons remained in a region without other units (I am talking hypothetically, they would be lost to attrition).
