I always thought that 3 star generals couldn't be killed, but I lost Grant during my taking of Nashville :(

Is this a bug or WAD?

Actually in two seperate games I've had two 3 star generals be killed and have enjoyed it immensly. First Joe Johnston fighting in '62 on the Penninsula and later in another game Thomas at the head to the Army of the Potomac in one last assault on Richmond, which threw off the whole attack and delay its capture until the next turn.

Statistical improbabilities have a funny way of happening: I had three games in which a three star died and it was always the same one: Albert Sydney Johnston! I always assumed someone had indeed upped his combat death propability to replicate historical events. Turns out it was one hell of a coincidence.

CarnageInc, I played North, (SVF). In the same battle, Grant was killed, but I managed to kill Lee!

I have had once in a while two killed but no like these guys. I don't recall where this took plase, but I won the battle :w00t: .

In a recent game I had Robert E. Lee unlock, so i placed him in charge of the Army of Northern Virginia and sent him off to repel a northern invasion of Norfolk. The invading force was soundly trounced but General Lee was killed! Needless to say i considered the battle a lost one.

I do wonder though, how he got roughly 75000 affectives over the Cumberland on one day. The river is 15 ft deep at Nashville and there was only one bridge.
Maybe he got shot by his own excoriated men.

Maybe he drowned swimming across?

Pontoon bridges (though 75000 is still a very large number to get across.)

I lost Joe Johnston at Winchester while playing last night. I attacked thinking Banks had left but he suddenly reappeared, repelled my attack, and Jackson got the blame for it!
