I did not see anything abou tit in the manual nor in the FAQ, so can someone please explain the whole militia-conscripts-line thing. Thank you.
Also, I asked it elswhere but this forum seems more lively, is Clovis' SFV mod supposed to work with 1.15? I think I installed it correctly, but I get a CTD before the main menu.

Over time, some militia (mostly the units you purchase - not the free ones) convert to Conscript Infantry. Then they convert to Line Infantry. The same goes for calvary (you get conscript going to regular). It is a random factor that can be increased by certain generals (IIRC, it is the training master trait). An example is R. Taylor (CSA).

Ok thanks, that is good to know and I got the mod working, there are some problems with it, but I'll post those in the relevant thread. My only issue now is for some reason I seem unable to create corps, even when I have 2-star leaders with troops fiarly close to an army.

Yeah, I posted this on the 1.1 thread, but the whole time I would get an error message at the end of the turn, but nothing bad happened, then in early 1862 (I forget the exact month) I got the same message, but followed by another syaing that the program needed to be terminated. On restart everythign was as it should be, just that 2/3 of the time I would need to restart the game after hitting end turn. Then in Late July, something else happened involving it loading the wrong files (I could see that during the AI turn in the message box) and then it crashed again, only this time, the save is screwed up, as I have no history messages and all of my navy in the blockade/supply boxes was deleted.
EDIT: Oops, I just realized you were probably talking about the corps issue. Yes, it was past March '62.
