Total Blockade is confusing me too

The "Total Blockade" option states that I gain "50k dollars, 15 victory points & 1 moral point" but my balance shows +50k dollars, -15 victory points & -1 moral point when I use the option.

So what is correct, the description or the balance???
(Using 1.15)

Here they are.

I'm not sure if the balance is really right as the next turn shows me 103 VP & 88 MP.
Turn 1 started with 50VP & 85MP.
So 50+38(from cities)+15(Total Blockade)=103, and thats what I get in the next turn.
Moral points don't fit but 85+1(Sumter)+1(Total Blockade)=87, I don't know where that last point comes from.

I think I know what's confusing you, and it is a display error as Gray said. When you GAIN NM and VP, negative signs appear in front of them when you check your "predicted balance" in the reinforcements/replacements screens. If, however, you LOSE NM and VP due to drafts, taxes, or concessions, they appear as positive numbers on those screens. Ignore them; you are in fact gaining, as you discovered.
As for that mystery NM, if your NM is lower than 90 or higher than 110, your NM changes by 1 pt/turn towards 100. It's a measure of "resiliency", but I think you have to control your capital for it to work.

Double-negative?

I think what is confusing everybody is the negative sign. If something costs -1 then that means you gain 1. (A double-negative, right?)

Cost 1 means you lose 1.
Cost -1 means you gain 1.

If that's not true then I am really confused...

Thanks for that, enf91. :hat:
I was wondering about the same in an ongoing PBEM...

In some cases, the NM definitely goes the wrong way, as documented previously (the Trent affair in particular).

Well if the descriptions are wrong I guess it can easily fixed but if the balance shows something wrong I guess that will be more complicated.

I know 1.15 is that last patch but any chance that we see a 1.16 in the future to fix stuff that is still left?
This problem is nothing that breaks the game but overall I think it's important that descriptions, balance and results are fitting as it gives a lot of uncertainty on what to rely if something steps out of the line.
