General Death

In yet another test game where I've been experimenting and trying to get a good feel for the game, I generated this battle result. I have read here many times about how it is rare that leaders get killed and that it has something to do with a 'die roll' probability or something and that rank is considered in the tallying. I have also read that three star and above generals are immune. If I am correct on these assumptions, then could someone give any thoughts as to these results in the accompanying battle result picture? If I am mistaken on these thoughts, then could someone please correct me? The loss of one, or even a few generals in one battle, seems plausible, but all of them?
PS Wait, is this a special case where leaders are more likely to die in a desperate fight for the capital, so ordinary die roll rules don't apply???

I had something similar to this, Grant had taken Memphis by amphibious assault, my opponent then moved his army and put Memphis under siege, I cant remember the specifics but I couldn't move Grant and his troops out. A couple of turns later Grant and what was left of his men surrendered, Grant was taken out of the game, I presume he was taken prisoner with the rest of the troops that had been trapped inside the city, looking at your battle report it looks to me like all the Reb general's where either killed in the attack or sent to a Union POW camp.....

Hi!
I don't have a definitive answer but... looking at the battle report it seems the CSA forces were all inside Richmond city, they were assaulted and completely destroyed... including the generals... as they were besieged inside the city they had no where to scape... nor men nor leaders
Probably this is the reason of the mass leaders killing/wounding (or being taken prisoner)
Cheers
