The leader died in a battle and the division became leaderless, however now i can not unassemble the division even one turn later i am unable to unassemble the division. However i can merge the division with a new leader and have according to the game 2 leaders stacked together.....

Region in question is Harpers Ferry, 14 division.

But in reality, wouldn't the division stay intact, just with some (not represented) second-in-command? If that were true, the Army of MS under Johnston would have completely disbanded upon his death at Shiloh; instead, Beauregard took over seamlessly.

Well, the leader might be dead, but the infrastructure would remain, wouldn't it?

For me... i cant unassemble the division and this was a clean install after my last problem with overpatching, but nevermind then.. will try again a clean installation.
Also the division with no leader.. is better than a division with a leader.. a normal division needs 4cp i think and only recieves 2.. were as this leaderless division has no CP required. I would suggest that alone merits a slight tweak either when pocus is back or for future games using the divisional idea.

Thanks as normal gray for the clear and idiot proofed instructions.

Regards

MrT.

I've twice now had division commanders killed - 1st was Thomas and I couldnt getit to disassemble ( I was able to give Van Cleve another division slot and attach the whole of Thomas's division as a new division)

2nd McLernand was killed and I was able to remove the division command from the corpse and later allocate it and the troops to Sherman.Mclernands face keeps coming back tho.

Its a modified installation so wouldnt normally post except to show that it seems to be a general ( :) ) issue and that there is an inconsistency about whether they can be broken down or not.

What patch/mod is that? McClernand doesn't have a CP bonus at all in 1.14 vanilla.

That's actually Sherman in disguise - I wonder if the picture remaining is due to textures being saved? - it's still there after a reboot.

As Gray says whats really needed is some vanilla saves - make some divisions and charge some trenches!

The situation above isnt too bad it just reminds you of a past Div Leader( I wonder what happens when you get a 2nd leader killed?) but not being able to break down a division is a pest.
