The Element Idea

I know this has probably already been addressed, but something that I think may be seen as either a very valuable game addition/adjustment...or problematic micromanagement addition that takes AWAY from the game...

The ability to move around, play with, reorganize individual elements.

I like the idea because you can take those militia brigades and actually combine them together with horse and artillery to make a more condensed and effective fighting force....I mention this mostly for the use this might serve in forming garrisons.

Instead of having to choose between larger and arguably harder to part with regular infantry brigades....or militia garrisons...you could put together your own scratch forces to hold the territory.

Agree 100%. It would be nice to be able to put your own brigades together, especialy for holding key strategic locations. As it is, if you just stack a few small units together, you get the inevitable 35% command penalty.

I think the brigade thing is supposed to model the lack of qualified officers as you often get a CP "discount" for some brigades vs. the same units all in a stack..

It has been discussed before. Gray explains here why it isn't feasible with the current game structure:

I beleive that part of the discussion starts on page two of the thread.
